An excerpt from a first attempt to compose for full orchestra. The material is grown from a basic two note motif.
Repeated, basic building blocks (harmonic, melodic, rhythmic motifs, etc.) as essential simplicity and unity underlying more complex textures have always been a fundamental tenet of my work, music or otherwise.
This piece is also one of my earliest examples of composition, being the third piece of music written/attempted.
